Upside Down Strawberry Cake
Ready to take your strawberry mud cake mix to the next level? This simple recipe transforms it into a beautiful, vibrant upside-down cake that's as impressive as it is delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 X strawberry mud cake mix (mixed as per directions)
- 250g Strawberries
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 160 degrees
- Mix strawberry mud cake as per instructions.
- Wash and halve strawberries.
- Combine cornflour and sugar in a small bowl.
- Toss strawberries in the cornflour mixture to coat and arrange them in the bottom of your lined cake tin.
- Pour the cake batter over the strawberries.
- Cover with a piece of foil and bake for 60 mins remove foil and bake for a further 30 mins. The cake is ready when your knife comes out clean.
- Allow to cool and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from tin and serve with a generous amount of fresh cream.
Tip - covering with foil helps your cake to bake flat.
